On the morning of October 16, 2022, Lance Corporal D.P. Kugler and Trooper B.M. Stuhmer were on a traffic stop in Greenville County, SC when they were struck by another car in a hit-and-run accident. Both Lance Corporal Kugler and Trooper Stuhmer were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital. Trooper Stuhmer was treated for non-threatening injuries and subsequently released. However, Lance Corporal Kugler remains in serious condition with critical injuries.

We are raising funds to support Lance Corporal Kugler through his recovery process.

Lance Corporal Kugler is 29 years old and has served with the South Carolina Highway Patrol for 7 years. He is passionate about serving his community, especially related to the prevention of driving under the influence. This summer, Mothers Against Drunk Driving recognized him as one of ten officers in the state for his DUI enforcement efforts. He and his wife, Mandie, share five children and have another child on the way.

Lance Corporal Kugler's recovery is expected to be extensive. This fundraiser is intended to support him and his family during this challenging process, helping to cover medical bills and with other needs associated with his recovery. 100% of the funds raised will be given to Lance Corporal Kugler.
